2012 Bike around Bankstown

Bring your bikes and helmets and join us for a bike ride around Bankstown. 'Bike around Bankstown' is a community bike ride and cycle skills course, and is completely free of charge. Bike around Bankstown is also an Active Bankstown event.

Centennial Parklands safety improvement project

Bicycle NSW has prepared a submission to the Centennial Parklands Trust in relation to the proposed Grand Drive safety improvement project. There is considerable concern in the bicycle community over the proposals and we thank our Members and Bugs for their engagement in providing useful feedback to Bicycle NSW and also in sending well worded submissions direct to the Trust.

Breakaway from Cancer represents a collaboration between Amgen and four nonprofit partner organizations to connect individuals with support services ranging from cancer prevention, assistance during treatment, and embracing survivorship. The Breakaway from Cancer website provides a one-stop shop' of essential resources, including a navigator tool to help maneuver through the complicated maze of online information that currently exists.

The Board of Bicycle New South Wales is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Unwin as the new Chief Executive Officer of BNSW, the peak bicycling organisation in New South Wales.

Alex has unrivalled experience and understanding of the sector and his knowledge of BNSW is second to none, having previously served as CEO from 2005 to 2010. Alex will commence his term as CEO from February allowing BNSW to seamlessly move forward.

Kent Street separated cycleway proposed extension from Druitt to Liverpool Streets

In October 2010 the City of Sydney consulted on a proposed extension of the Kent Street separated cycleway from Druitt to Liverpool Streets.

They are working to balance the needs of all road users, and have now developed two designs to extend the cycleway. Safety is paramount during the design process.
