Creating a better environment for cycling

Bicycle NSW is the state's peak organisation for bicycle riders. In addition to all of the benefits highlighted below, by becoming a Bicycle NSW member you support the development and promotion of cycling through our advocacy work. Some of our current projects include:

• Participating in the forums of the NSW Long-Term Transport Master Plan Customer and Community Advisory Group. Transport planning forums will be held across NSW to ensure customers, businesses and other organisations can have their say on the future of transport in NSW.
• Ku-ring-gai Council have established a new Bicycle Reference Committee and Bicycle NSW are on the committee to contribute and provide practical input as the Council begins its planning for future cycling infrastructure.
• Taking the lead in trying to establish "rails to trails" initiatives in NSW by working with local communities and the NSW Government to convert the best of 3,000 km of neglected and decaying public infrastructure.
• Actively promoting community consultations through our BUG Council on issues of major importance including the Sydney HarbourLink proposal and the closure of the M2 bicycle/breakdown lane.
