Insurance for BUGs

Bicycle NSW Public Liability policy is extended to cover BUGS that are Incorporated and formally affiliated and approved BUGs of Bicycle NSW.

Rides: Bicycle NSW Public Liability policy covers BNSW Trained Ride Leaders. Please be aware that this insurance does not cover the riders on a BUG ride unless they are members of BNSW. Therefore it is highly recommended that riders become Members of Bicycle NSW which will then cover them for personal liability and personal accident cover.

Please note: all Ride Leaders of Affiliated BUGs must be members of Bicycle NSW to be covered by the insurance.

Meetings, Community events etc: In addition to covering Ride Leaders, the insurance also provides public liability for a BUG wishing to hold a stall at a local festival, community day or hire a hall for a meeting etc.

Please note: you do need to request cover in these instances - see the section on Certificate of Currency for details.

The executive committee of affiliated BUGs and anyone else representing the BUG where insurance cover is required must be members of Bicycle NSW.

Certificate of Currency

You will need a Certificate of Currency to be covered when holding a stall at a fete or festival, or hiring a hall etc. It is the responsibility of the President of the BUG to contact Cycle Cover to organise a copy of the Certificate of Currency

Requesting a certificate of currency

• Your BUG must be affiliated to Bicycle NSW
• Only the President of the BUG can request the Certificate.
