Commuting Survey

The Bicycle NSW Commuting program is encouraging workplaces to keep a track on the number of employees choosing to ride all, or part of their journey to work. Research shows that regular monitoring will increase motivation and the likelihood of new behaviour patterns being adopted - in this case riding to work.

We are asking workplaces to complete a simple online survey, once a month. Anyone within the organisation can do this.

What are the benefits of completing the survey?

  • Create a buzz about cycling to work to motivate and encourage new riders.
  • Create friendly competition between departments and other organisations.
  • Highlight your organisation's commitment to the promotion of healthy, sustainable behaviours leading to a healthy and more productive workforce.
  • Allows organisations to track progress of programs and initiatives that promote cycling.

How do I take part? It's simple!

  • Select any day of the week during the month
  • On the morning of this day send out the e mail (cut and paste from below) to all your employees.
  • The e mail will ask those who rode to work to hit reply by the close of business on that day.
  • Simply count the number of replies and complete the commuting survey which can be accessed by clicking here
  • The following month do the same process again. Preferably carry out the survey on the same week each month, for example if you carry out the survey in week 3 of August conduct September's survey sometime in week 3.
