Find out how to receive a free skills and road safety workshop for students at your school and work with the schools team to break down barriers and get more of your school community more active more often.

Receive a workshop at your school
Registered schools have the opportunity to receive a bicycle skills and road safety workshop for students delivered by qualified coaches. Each term we deliver workshops in 7 schools across the state. The workshops focus on skills necessary for riding on the road (such as signaling, scanning in front and behind, stopping quickly and turning), road rules for bicycle riders, basic bicycle maintenance and helmet fit. The workshops are funded by Bicycle NSW. Schools receiving the workshop are given an active travel guide for the school community. Click here to register your interest to receive a workshop in Term 4 2010.
Training available to registered schools
We can also provide free training and resources for school staff wishing to deliver high quality bicycle education programs in their school. The one day course, delivered by Cycling Australia, provides the knowledge, skills and resources (including lesson plans) to conduct bicycle skills coaching to novice riders. Bicycle NSW provides training for 1 member of staff from 2 schools per term. Email schools@bicyclensw.org.au if you would like to undergo the training.
