NSW 2000
for the purpose of:

  • confirming the minutes of the last preceding annual general meeting;

  • receiving reports from the Board on activities of Bicycle NSW during the last preceding financial year;

  • electing certain ordinary members of the board (details below); and

  • receiving and considering the statement which must be submitted to members pursuant to section 26(6) of the Associations Incorporation Act 1984.

In addition to the normal business to be conducted at the AGM, members will be asked to consider, and if thought fit pass, a special resolution with respect to rule 52 of the constitution of Bicycle NSW.

A copy of the Special Resolution along with an agenda for the AGM will be posted here no later than Monday 19th October 2009.

Members who have any questions they would like to put on notice to the Board to respond to at the AGM are asked to please email these to the secretary at aunwin@bicyclensw.org.au

Nominations for election to the Board are now open!

At the 2009 AGM the members of Bicycle NSW will be asked to elect at least 4 Board members as per the transitional rule 56 set out in the Constitution adopted at the 2008 AGM. 2 of these positions will be for a 2 year term, and 2 positions for a 3 year term. (per rule 56.3) Upon election the 4 Board members will be able to decide, in consultation with the remainder of their Board colleagues, which of them are to serve on the Board for 2 years and which for 3.

Any member of Bicycle NSW may nominate for election to the Board. If this is something you are thinking about and want to know more, please have a look at the Board Information page on this website and if you have any further questions please drop an email to the President at president@bicyclensw.org.au

Under our new Constitution phone and video conferencing can be used for Board Meetings. These changes are specifically intended to make the involvement of members more practicable regardless of where they live.

Board Nominees must be proposed by 5 members of Bicycle NSW by completing the special Nomination Form and submitting to the Secretary no later than 5pm Tuesday 15th September 2009.

2008 AGM Report

Thank you to all our members who attended the 2008 AGM in person and to those who submitted a proxy vote. The strength of community organizations like ours is based on member participation so it is always encouraging to see people getting involved.

3 nominations were received for the 3 vacancies on the Board and so the 3 candidates were taken as being elected at the meeting. Profiles of your 3 new Board members David McGrath, John Cooper and Ken Price appear on the Board Information page of this website, so please go and take a look!

In addition at the AGM members were asked to consider and vote on 6 special resolutions relating to changes to our constitution. Each of the 6 resolutions was carried with a greater than 75% majority in favour. Full details of the results of the vote, the new constitution, a copy of the presentations and minutes from the meeting are available for download below.
