Over the past six months Bicycle NSW, with support from the Roads and Maritime Services, have been holding free, community-based safe cycling workshops to Western and South Western Sydney residents.

The Board of Bicycle New South Wales is pleased to announce the appointment of Alex Unwin as the new Chief Executive Officer of BNSW, the peak bicycling organisation in New South Wales.

Alex has unrivalled experience and understanding of the sector and his knowledge of BNSW is second to none, having previously served as CEO from 2005 to 2010. Alex will commence his term as CEO from February allowing BNSW to seamlessly move forward.

Bicycle NSW is conducting its annual membership survey to further improve the services we provide to our Members across the state.

The purpose of the membership survey is to find out your reasons for cycling, better understand what you value in your Bicycle NSW membership and further improve the Bicycle NSW website.

SydneyCycleways receive so many wonderful testimonials from such a wide array of bike riders that they decided the best way to celebrate these personal stories was to share them through "Everything's Connected".

The BNSW Environmental Trust Video Competition invites budding film makers from across Australia to create a 5 minute video to promote bike riding as a sustainable, healthy and environmentally friendly form of transport and recreation.

There are lots of ways to get started, for example, you can use a helmet cam and filming your trip to work or school, or you can do a full production, it is up to you and remember your film does not have to have a dialogue.

Businesses along Bourke Road, Alexandria have been misused in a deceitful campaign to attack the City of Sydney cycleway program.

CEO of the City of Sydney, Monica Barone, said a legal letter from Mahoney Dominic lawyers to the City of Sydney had falsely claimed 102 companies and businesses were joined in a class action against the Council's cycleway.

"The alarm bells began ringing when the lawyer's letter arrived with a list of the companies supposedly against the cycleways.
