Bicycle NSW is excited to announce that we will be discovering regional New South Wales with a series of bicycle rides around the country town of Orange.
The long weekend of rides will be centred in just one town and make use of local accommodation options and amenities. We will offer rides of different lengths, mountain bike rides, discovery rides and classic road rides
10 - 18 March
Join in on all of the fun during Bike Week 10 - 18 March 2012, Brisbane's week-long festival of all things cycling! There will be plenty of (mostly free) activities for all ages and cycling abilities. The feature rides will be held on Sunday 18 March and include the BDO Brisbane Coot-tha Challenge, Great Brisbane Bike Ride and Goldcross Cycles Family Fun Ride. For more details visit www.bq.org.au.
2 - 3 February 2012 // Canberra
The 5th Australian Cycle Tourism Conference and Rail Trail Symposium will be held in the Ann Harding Conference Centre, University of Canberra from 2-3 February 2012. The 2-day Conference on Thursday and Friday will address topics related to Cycle Tourism both in Australia and internationally. The program includes a top-quality line up of international and Australian speakers, a number of interactive panel discussions, a gala dinner and a visit to Stromlo Forest Park, a mecca for cycling in Canberra.
20 - 22 April
A fully supported three day ride to raise funds for the Day of Difference Foundation, the charity started by Sophie Delezio's parents following her tragic accidents. Rider numbers are limited to 48.
This is a challenging course that will be very appealing to fit regular riders. There will be some tough memorable climbs, Macquarie Pass (day one) and Fitz's Hill (day three) being the two most notable.
18 March
Up for a challenge? Are you Brisbane's best hill climber? Take on Mt Coot-tha in the BDO Brisbane Coot-tha Challenge! Whether you're out to set your best time climbing Mt Coot-tha or simply the satisfaction of finishing this event you will definitely be left feeling rewarded. About the Commuter Challenge: the Bicycle NSW Commuter Challenge is an initiative to encourage and reward you to cycle all or part of the journey to work and to also encourage cycling outside of the workplace - for transport, fitness and recreation. You select a distance goal to suit you (250km, 500km, 1000km, 2000km or 5000km) to cycle before the close of the challenge on 31 March 2012.
