Bike Theft Insurance

Great bike theft insurance offers for Bicycle NSW Members

Insure your bike

Ride2School's target audience is students in Years 5-18. Whether you are a primary or secondary school teacher, there are benefits for your students in being more active. Students who walk, ride, scoot or skate to school will arrive exercised and ready to learn. They are likely to be more independent than those who are driven to school.

Frequent Rider Passport

Laminate this card and use it as a great incentive for students to wheel or walk to school. Simply print off, laminate and hand out to the students. Hole punch their card everytime they wheel or walk to school. Students aim to get the whole card punched!
Getting your students involved in mountain biking
Mountain biking is exciting, exhilarating and a great way to     explore while keeping fit. Why not start a club at your school? You will need to consider a number of issues including risk assessment of routes, approval from school council, experience of ride leaders and ratio of participants to leaders.

How to develop Quiet Neighbourhood Routes to School

Many people do not realise that the best route to ride or walk is likely to be different from the best route to drive. Once identified and developed, the routes allow more parents to feel confident that their child can ride or walk to school. Download the DIY document and develop quiet neighbourhood routes to your school .

Learning Federation course materials

The Le@rning Federation (TLF) is an innovative project that employs emerging technologies to produce world-class online curriculum content to encourage student learning and support teachers. It includes some great materials which use bikes as the central theme. Click here to go to thier website.

Active Transport and the Curriculum

Ride2School provides many opportunities to develop classroom activities and group projects which can assist students learning. A project on active transport could lead a student down many learning pathways. It provides a social context for learning and opportunities including to undertake research, map their local area, be active, work in a team, be a leader, develop persuasion skills and engage with their community socially and physically.
Cycling and Road Safety

Click here for a link to the NSW Department of Education and Training's Road Safety policy and support materials. Here you will find a range of teaching and learning activities and a sample school policy for possible use in DET schools. DET schools requiring support in programming and planning to strengthen the message of safe riding and road safety should contact their Regional Consultant in Road Safety Education.
